In the year 2008 this activity is known as Creative Indonesia Idol. ICI's success in the first year of activities, the response has been very good from the creators / actors, creative communities, academics, innovators, Cultural, Industry and Business circles, mass media, society and government.
In the year 2009 this program activity into Indonesia Creative Icon (ICI). ICI is an annual activity aimed at developing the creative culture of the people who raised area to the utilization of local resources to create a creative industry. This activity is also intended to create access for creative actors and actors to open distribution of regional and global markets toward creative economic stability.
Organization of ICI in 2009 began with activities in the area carried out simultaneously with the implementation RITECH CREATIVE WEEK EXPO and RRI are held on the 8 cities in Indonesia. Eight cities are meant as 8 clusters, each of the center of the surrounding provinces. Organization jointly by the ICI in 2009 with two other activities in an effort to synergize the ICI in 2009 with the program activities conducted by local government or department, as a form of involvement and identification with the government and relevant departments that will encourage the success of goals and make it as ICI NATIONAL MOVEMENT.

toward the establishment of creative economy as producers of the State Foreign Exchange.
GENERAL PURPOSE
* Preserving, appreciating and developing local culture.
o Optimizing the culture of the region in supporting the creativity of the community.
o synergize people, actors, lovers, users, supporters and the government in fostering and developing the nation's culture and creativity.
o Establish a culture of independence and autonomy of technology toward economic independence.
SPECIAL PURPOSE
o Creating the creative community in the field of digital content, shows and products by utilizing the natural and cultural wealth of Indonesia
o Creating opportunities independent community through creativity
o Finding, forming the container and raise the creative industry
o Establish regional economy through the creative industries to creative economic stability.
Membership
Icon Creative Indonesia 2009 will capture the creator seeds that will be supporters and practitioners / activists Indonesia's creative industries between the ages of 10 sd 25 years, spread spectrum in the competition 9.
